Obedience training in a dog has many benefits and uses. It is an essential part of having an overall well behaved dog.
Sit, down, stay and leave are all great tools to have in our arsenal. There is, however, so much more we can do to challenge ourselves and our canine companions.
Focused heelwork, send-away, stand, speak and bring, are great examples of more advanced obedience training. Whether you wish to compete in working trials or are just looking for new ways to exercise your dog or simply just to have a bit of fun, obedience is a great activity.
Getting an early start is vital to a happy, well mannered dog.
At our puppy classes you will learn the foundations of training your puppy, and your canine will also gain valuable social skills.
Courses are 1 hour sessions per week over 5 weeks, where we will cover: Sit, Down, Stay/wait, Recall, Out (Let go), Loose lead walking, Polite greeting, Teething, Toileting and a few other important areas of training, to help you get started on your journey.
Suitable for puppies 12-16 weeks
Proof of Vaccinations required
We expect our dogs to live by certain rules for a harmonious existence. This, however, isn't always the case - there are many canine behaviours that are considered unacceptable by humans, such as pulling on the lead, destroying your home or even acting aggressively.
Sometimes canines get into bad habits, learn unwanted behaviours or even become anxious about something. It is important to understand the situation and identify the stimuli creating these behaviours in order to correct or modify them.
In many cases bad behaviours are unknowingly reinforced when trying to correct them. This is where we can really make a difference to both you and your canine, ultimately leading to a happier home and content canine.
An initial assessment will be required prior to any behaviour correction sessions.
